Incubator Farms

About Our Incubator Farms

Spaces of Opportunity’s incubator farm is an urban space designed to “incubate” the diverse growing skills of its farmers. It is farming on a small scale that provides a source of income for growers, while serving as a demonstration project in restorative agriculture and community engagement. All participants are perceived as learners and all as teachers. This partnership provides fresh, organically grown produce to the south Phoenix community while directly and indirectly sharing practices that are sustainable for individuals, communities, and the planet.

Incubator Farm Rentals

In order to become a farmer within the incubator farms, some experience is expected, as well as a strong interest in both local food production and food justice for the south Phoenix community. Farmers are assigned a quarter acre to start, and successful growers may be offered the opportunity to cultivate additional parcels, depending on availability. The annual fee is $550, and growers are responsible for the costs of water, electricity and refrigerated space.
